They say every picture tells a story, and the picture of the MS Braves Stadium taken last evening at the Southern Miss (Golden Eagles) vs MS State (Bulldogs) game tells it all!!
Sponsored by Trustmark National Bank, the game drew close to 6,000 fans (a record for the College Series Southern Miss vs MS State game!) who packed the MS Braves Stadium and cheered MS State on to their victory of 13 runs versus 5!! It was a close game until the end with lot’s of strategies employed by the coaches of both teams. A very entertaining night was had by all.
Now, let’s get to the good stuff…once you parked your vehicle and walked to the Stadium you were greeted by those Stadium smells 🙂 hot dogs on the grills, smoked sausages, french fries, nachos, and beer wafted through the stands. We saw ice cream, cracker jacks, footlongs, and burgers carried through the stands by Dad’s, Grandad’s, Mom’s, Grandmom’s to their children and assorted teens were the beneficiaries of their largesse, too! Although the group that I was with ate dinner beforehand at the Alumni House (in the Holiday Inn), all these smells and smiles made us hungry and thirsty again.
If you missed all the fun, there are two more games in the College Series and one takes place next week!
On April 5th Ole Miss will take on Southern Miss at the Stadium (gates open at 5:00pm-first pitch at 6:30pm). Your last chance to see a College Series game will be the Governor’s Cup on April 26, again sponsored by Trustmark National Bank, which pits rivals Ole Miss and MS State.
